Abstract

The internet has played a key role in changing how we associate with other people and how we work together today. Because of the internet, electronic trade has risen, enabling business to all the more adequately, collaborate with their clients and different enterprises inside and outside their ventures. One industry that is utilizing this new correspondence channel to achieve its clients is the financial business (banking industry). The e-banking framework tends several emerging trends: client's interest for anytime, anywhere services etc. The difficulties that restrict electronic banking are worries of security and protection of data. Information security is an immense concern to computer users, which is not only a technical problem, but also associated to human factors. One of the main issue in J&K state’s Kashmir region related to Internet banking is the weak security in E-banking application. Therefore this study will investigate further the solution to enhance the security issues in E-banking implementation. In today’s technological age, infinite transactions occur every minute. For these transactions, data need to be easily available for the genuine people who want to have access, and it must be kept securely from cheaters. There are two basic approaches to the verification of an individual’s identity: e.g. Debit card or Credit cards Password or Pin and the second approach is biometric (e.g. fingerprint), which is only one of its kind about yourself and cannot be shared. Moreover, the benefits of investigating biometric authentication systems in E-banking will secure the record in process to the system and removes password vulnerabilities; enhanced convenience such as employees quickly register in using their finger; reduced help desk costs by eliminating calls for password resets. Many systems utilize an amalgamation of these methods in order to boost the level of security. Thus, a possible alternative is to introduce biometric authentication.
