Abstract

In this paper we study the transition from B DNA to Z DNA. We find soliton solutions for angular and longitudinal fluctuations in the DNA lattice. However non bonded interactions couple the angular and longitudinal fluctuations. Only when the coupled equations are solved exactly can we identify the mode which leads to the transition from B DNA to Z DNA
