Abstract

Green computing means the study and practice of designing, manufacturing, using and disposing of computers, servers and associated subsystems efficiently and effectively with no impact on the environment. Power consumption is one of the best area where we found that Software as a Service (SaaS) is greener than on -premises. Using Software as a Service (SaaS) Technology 89.31% reduction in overall energy consumption for a four physician practice using SaaS Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software over on- premise software!
