Training and Development Impacts on Organizational Performance - An Empirical Study

Abstract

Training and development intervention only can bring organizations to adopt, compete, and achieve the organizational goals. Training and development programs determine the organization as well as employee?s development, growth, success and survival. So it is believed that organization should give utmost importance to training and development programmers in the organization. Thus role of training and development becomes imperative for success and survival of the organization. The purpose of the study is to understand the concept of training and development and empirically find out the employees perceptions, which determines the impacts of training and development programs in TRL Krosaki Refractories Ltd. The data has collected from 198 employees from across the several departments of the organization, through structured questionnaire and A Likert 5 Point Scale applied to measure the employee?s perceptions regarding their feelings, experiences and expectations from training and development programmers. The study reveals that training and development programmers were well designed, good administered, appropriated content, appropriated training methods, relevant programmers, periodically evaluated and effective.
