Abstract

The study of a two dimensional unsteady free convective and heat transfer flow of an incompressible viscous fluid through a porous medium bounded by an infinite vertical porous plate in presence of a heat source has been presented in sleep flow regime. The plate temperature varies periodically with time. The governing equations are solved by regular perturbation technique. The expressions for non-dimensional skin friction in the direction of flow and rate of heat transfer in terms of Nusselt number at the plate are obtained. The effect of various parameters on the transient velocity, transient temperature, the skin friction and the rate of heat transfer are discussed with the help of graphs.
