Practical Study of Threats in Web Applications

Abstract

Web apps have gained enough popularity in the last decade and so does the attacks on them. This paper aims toknow the status of threats associated with web applications due to vulnerabilities present. It has been almost twenty years that few of these vulnerabilities are identified and fixed but it is amazing to know that they are still incorporated in web applications by developers unknowingly during development. These vulnerabilities allow attackers to gain access to the sensitive information from the web applications. The results are based on the web applications collected from the freelancer developers and the developers working in small to medium sized organizations. Also, the threats associated to web apps due to these vulnerabilities are presented in this paper.
